Columns, beams, ......

2D / 3D / Parameterized / 4D / 5D

Allplan lets you create structural elements like columns, roof trusses, foundations in different ways. Allplan is a classic CAD system that gives you the tools you need to create layouts quickly, easily and efficiently. In addition, Allplan provides modules including innovative applications associating precast elements with time data, quantities and costs. These applications are already used by our pilot customers.

From 2D to 3D design – the layout is correct!

Today the majority of users are still working in 2D. They create layouts. But working in 3D has significant advantages: in addition to layouts, the program automatically creates quantities, which are very useful for production, logistics and billing. However, many users still hesitate to take this “big” step.

Act now and create at least the entire reinforcement in 3D – this is an important step towards 3D. Consequently, reinforcement drawings are consistent and reinforcement and bending schedules are always correct.

Building model and reinforcement

You are certainly familiar with this situation in your daily work: you get a layout and production is scheduled for tomorrow. This puts an end to the building model right from the start. Now you use Allplan to proceed in a conventional manner and design the precast elements in 2D or 3D and the reinforcement in 3D and get the desired layout.

If you can spend more time on the design phase, you will work in 3D completely. This ensures that general drawings and each individual precast element are consistent and correct. The component designer, which includes a library of parameterized components, is very useful and assists you in your work (see parameterized components). Once the building model has been created, you can continue with the next steps.

Design + identifier

The components are given names and an unlimited number of attributes, which are required for process planning and logistics. You can set the list of attributes to suit your needs and requirements. The layout is labeled and used as a general drawing or assembly drawing on the site.

The process of assigning mark numbers including information on the quantity is controlled by the identifier. This tool compares the precast elements and checks whether they are identical. You can enter filter criteria for this process.

Foundation drawings

are derived from the building model and adjusted (dimension lines, text, sections etc.).

Formwork drawing and reinforcement drawing

Each precast element is integrated and described in detail; a formwork drawing and a reinforcement drawing are generated. The results are layouts with sections, views, details and schedules with precast elements and reinforcement.

Compilations

As you have assigned attributes to the precast elements (objects), you can choose between different types of schedules to run analyses based on a wide range of different criteria.

4D and 5D

PP Manager (available in the fourth quarter of 2007) and Allplan Precast 2008 open up new possibilities.

Some highlights:
The most important part first: building models can be visualized and edited by CAD laymen.

  • Production/ projection
  • Stacks / truck loads
  • Erection sequence
  • Inserting tables as backdrops for prices,
